യൂസഫ് അലി ലോകത്ത് നടത്തുന്ന ഒരു വ്യവസായം  പറയാമോ? കുറെ കച്ചവട സ്ഥാപനമല്ലാതെ എതുത്പാദിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വ്യവസായമാണ്, ഇദ്ദേഹം നടത്തുന്നത്?

30000 കോടി ആസ്തിയുണ്ടെന്നു പറയുന്ന ഇദ്ദേഹമെന്തേ ഒരു വ്യവസായവും ഇതു വരെ നടത്താത്തത്? ഇടപ്പള്ളിയില്‍ വലിയ ഒരു വാണിജ്യ കേന്ദ്രം സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. പൂത്ത പണം കയ്യിലുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് കൊണ്ട് പോയി ചെലവഴിക്കാന്‍ വേണ്ടി. എന്നാല്‍ ഈ പണമുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന ഒരു വ്യവസായം പോലും അലിക്ക് തുടങ്ങാന്‍ തോന്നുന്നില്ലല്ലൊ. അദ്ദേഹം ​നടത്തുന്ന ആശുപത്രി കോടിക്കണക്കിനു രൂപ വരുമാനമുണ്ടാക്കുമ്പോഴും  നേഴ്സുമാര്‍ക്ക് നക്കാപ്പിച്ച ശമ്പളം കൊടുത്ത് പറ്റിക്കുന്ന കാര്യവും മറക്കരുത്. 

ബോള്‍ഗാട്ടിയില്‍  തുടങ്ങുന്നത് കണ്‍വെന്‍ഷന്‍ സെന്ററാണത്രെ. അതുകൊണ്ട് ആര്‍ക്കെന്തു പ്രയോജനം. അത്പണിയുമ്പോള്‍ കുറച്ച് ബംഗാളികള്‍ക്കും  ബീഹാറികള്‍ക്കും പണി കിട്ടും.ഏതെങ്കിലും മലയാളി അവിടെ പോയി കെട്ടിടം പണിക്കു ചേരുമോ? പണുത് കഴിഞ്ഞാല്‍ തൂപ്പുകാരായിട്ടും  മറ്റും കുറച്ചു പേര്‍ക്ക് ജോലി കിട്ടിയേക്കും. അത് ചെയ്യാന്‍ ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്ത് ഒരു മലയാളിക്കും വയ്യ. അറബിയുടെ അടിമപ്പണി ചെയ്യാന്‍ അവനു യാതൊരു മടിയുമില്ല.

കേരളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ സംരംഭമാണെന്നും പറഞ്ഞ് കൊണ്ടു വന്ന സ്മാര്‍ട്ട് സിറ്റി എന്തുകൊണ്ട് മുന്നോട്ട് പോകുന്നില്ല? കേരളത്തിന്റെ ഭൂമി സൌജന്യമായി കിട്ടാന്‍ എത്ര വര്‍ഷം അവര്‍ തര്‍ക്കിച്ചു നടന്നു? എന്നിട്ട് കുറച്ച് എഴുതിക്കൊടുത്തിട്ടും നടക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ. ആരാണു അതില്‍ തെറ്റുകാരന്‍? വികസന വിരോധി എന്നും പറഞ്ഞ് വി എസിനെ ആക്ഷേപിച്ചവര്‍ അദ്ദേഹം ​ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിനു മലയാളികള്‍ക്ക് തൊഴില്‍ ലഭിക്കത്തക്കവിധം  ഒപ്പുവച്ച കരാര്‍ ആരാണട്ടിമറിച്ചത്? വി എസ് ഐ റ്റി വകുപ്പ് കൈ കാര്യം ചെയ്തപ്പോള്‍ 30% വളര്‍ച്ച ആ രംഗത്ത് നേടിയിരുന്നു. കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടി കൈ കാര്യം ചെയ്ത രണ്ടു വര്‍ഷത്തെ വളര്‍ച്ച 2%. എന്തുകൊണ്ട്? 

സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ഭൂമി അലിയേപ്പോലുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് നിസാര വിലക്ക് വാണിജ്യം നടത്താന്‍ കൊടുക്കുന്നതല്ല വികസനം.

So what? Any one could have participated in the bid is a stupid statement. It is not the transparency of the bid which is being questioned, it is the transparency of the behind the door deals which violated existing rules and regulations. There is clear cut collaboration between vested interested parties in port trust in charting out the rate and conditions. That is being questioned.

Any person with sense will question this. Lease rate and market rate should be compared. Any body who values the assets of the state will compare that. Govt is leasing may buildings for offices in Kochi. And exorbitant money is paid for those lease as well. Truth is being that , why not the same govt demand a fair deal in this as well? 

There is no point in keeping mind that this rate was decided by the Port trust, when the aim of the govt is is to sell assets for throw away price. That is the main issue. Instead of 72 crores, YA could have bid for 10 crores even. If that was the highest bid, it would also might have been accepted. 
The basic issue is, port trust does not have the authority to give land for non port activities. This rule is blatantly violated here. That clearly shows that YA got this deal in murky way. That is why he even without contesting the issue with authorities or courts, just ran away, citing flimsy reasons.

Sure. Inquiry should be done to know, who and how this got sanctioned. The government can look into the matter to rectify it as well. That is the stand of CPM in this issue. This stand of CPM is vindicated by the fact that YA decided to withdraw from his deal. He could have approached authorities or the court of law to sort out this issue. 

CPM is not insulting YA. Whether he is an investor or another person, is not the issue., Here is a deal. It seems to be shoddy. Port trust and govt of India should come out and tell the truth to the people. And clear their doubts. If YA can not even stand criticism it is better he may get out of India and settle in Gulf.

In fact he is demanding this pond of flesh for his alleged involvement in Smart City project. He expects everybody should be be grateful to him for that supposed to be favor. I do not think we should budge to that expectation.

Port does not need an international convention center. Port does not need a five star hotel. Port does not need to construct 572 flats to be subleased to other people. 

Which other ports in this country do have a convention center and five star hotel?

He is investing in trade, not in Industry. Port trust land is not being used for any industrial purpose., It is mainly for residential purpose, He is planning to spend Rs 1000 crores for residential flats. That is is the main goal. That is lucrative too. In Kochi residential flats are ever increasing in demand. The convention center and five star hotel are just side businesses. People like you see only these things in reverse order. Have you got any idea, how much is his budget for convention center and hotel? Only a fraction of what he is planning to spend for residential build up.

The issue with original smart city proposed by Umman Chandy was similar. About half of the land was planned to be used for residential and recreational purposes.

Why should Dinesh Mani think of any refund? The issue is with the central govt. Port Trust is owned by Govt of India. He can approach them to get a refund. If the mistake is with port trust official this can be retrieved form them as well.

Lulu Mall is a shopping complex. Why he invested only in a shopping complex for high class people with lot of money to spent? Why he did not think about ordinary people? Why he did not start some other venture which could give direct job to ordinary people? 

He was fishing in an different way. He wanted to make others to believe that he is doing some sacrifice for people of Kerala and by that tried to be in good book of people and authorities. And that is what has happened exactly. Seeing his so called magnanimity there were authorities to lease him prime land for paltry sum. He got it as well. Fools like you will never understand this tactic.

Kerala will never lose anything even if he closes own his Mall as well. Kerala also will never gain anything from the so called convention center or five star hotel. So I do not think his departure will affect Kerala either. Smart city authorities had threatened to shift to other states in 2006. But what happened.Let us wait and see.

If Lulu Mall violated rules and regulations, it is better to close it down. Nobody gave him permission to encroach Edappalli canal banks. He even built a bridge over the canal without any permission from the authorities. And part of the car park is in encroached land. Let him withdraw from these encroached areas first. Then he can preach about decency and logic. 

Many environmental activists like C R Neelakandan had raised many objections during the construction phase of this mall. They pointed out clear violations of rules and regulations. But at that time the then Industry minister and LDF ministry did not heed to these issues. It is true CPM is late to come to the stage. It better late than never. Whether you call it sadistic orgasm, one thing is true. Ali is clever. he sensed the reality. If he proceeds with the project, he will be legally and morally at fault. So he decided to draw the curtain. I think it is a realistic approach and a lesson to the so called greedy investors like him.

I did ask the question, where do they have these industries producing safety pin, frozen food, and electronics? These materials do come in their labels doesnot make any sense. China produces goods for various supermarkets in the same factory. They are labeled accordingly. Wal mart and Tesco do have product made in China by Chinese industries , but labeled as Wal mart and Tesco. Lulu is just doing the same as far as I know. Do you have any idea in which country is Lulu's factories located. If there are some, why not Ali start one such in Kerala, to give job for ordinary people?

I think you have totally misunderstood what I said. I did not say that the mall should be shut down. YA bought the land with his own money and built the mall with his own ,money. No body can question that either. The issue raised is whether he has encroached land surrounding the mall. When there is an allegation he should clear that doubt. But he is not doing that.

The better late than never phrase is also misunderstood. When VS raised environmental issue years ago, the official party machinery lead by Pinarayi, which is now raising this issue, did torpedo VS in his every step. Now they have realized the importance of environmental issues and started thinking of that. That is what I meant. This could be part of the faction feud in CPM as well. But those people who consistently opposed VS is now compelled to take up environmental issues. Congress which never raised such issues, is also in the band wagon. At least a few Congress MLAs are in the fray. 

Here many people compare Dubai, USA and Europe with Kerala. They want Kerala like Dubai. I think they do not have an iota of sense in their upper story. The only environment in Dubai is desert. There is no issue with desert either. Kerala is entirely different. So we have to consider a lot of issues when charting out development. Building long stretches of concrete structures do not make any sense at all. We ignored environment long ago. And suffering now. No rain, no agriculture, no drinking water, no electricity, no gas. 

Have you ever thought how much electricity is consumed by Lulu Mall daily? YA has boasted of the number of people visiting his mall daily. Does that have any significance? 

In this post there is some sarcasm regarding tractor, computer, jcb etc. If any body think that Kerala lost a lot by not introducing these things early, they are real morons. Is that the reason why these morons have abandoned Kerala and do slavery in Arab countries? People who work in Kerala get decent pay. Manual laborers earn more than computer operators. Does that make any sense? I really doubt.
